On February 10, the KNAW organises the Abel Prize Evening.

The Japanese mathematician Masaki Kashiwara is being honored for his groundbreaking work in algebraic analysis and representation theory, particularly the development of the theory of D-modules and the discovery of crystal graphene’s, making him the first Japanese person to win this prestigious prize in mathematics.
