1) Nijmegen

a two year postdoc position

in p-adic groups will be available at the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen,
September 2017 (but this is flexible).

The postdoc will be employed in the NWO Vidi project "A Hecke algebra

approach to the local Langlands correspondence", led by Maarten Solleveld.

There is also a small teaching duty (20%).


We welcome applications from candidates who:

- hold a PhD in mathematics (or will obtain one soon),

- are specialized in p-adic groups or a related subject.

In the Max Planck Research Group ?Theory of Turbulent Flows? we seek to

fill a


*PhD position (m/f) in the field of Turbulent Convection.*


We are looking for excellent, highly motivated early-career researchers

to join our research team. The position is embedded in the DFG Priority

Program 1881 ?Turbulent Superstructures?.


The research of the independent Max Planck Research Group focuses on

fundamental aspects of turbulent flows with analytical and computational

methods. We are offering excellent working conditions in a highly

international research environment.


The PhD position is limited to three years and will be filled as soon as





  * The PhD candidate should have a* Master?s degree in physics*

  * The ideal candidate should have a background in complex systems,

    turbulent convection and statistical physics

  * Programming skills as well as experience in the numerical simulation

    of nonlinear partial differential equations, parallel programming,

    and scientific visualization are a requirement

  * Fluency in English is expected


In close collaboration with the Georg August University, a structured

PhD program is offered in the graduate program on the Physics of

Biological and Complex Systems.


Salary and working hours are in accordance with the funding guidelines

of the Max Planck Society for junior scientists.
