TUE

135th European Study Group Mathematics with Industry 2018 (SWI2018)
Date/location:? January 29th ? February 2, 2018, TU Eindhoven
Since 1968, the Study Group Mathematics with Industry has brought together mathematicians
and companies. Following the original Oxford model, about 60 mathematicians, ranging from
PhD students to full professors, spend a week working on real life problems, presented to
them by companies on Monday morning. During five busy days these problems are discussed,
modelled, analysed, and computed, and results are presented on Friday.
You are kindly invited to participate. Check our
website for more infor?mation, e-mail.
Registration through the SWI 2018 website is compulsory due to capacity constraints.
We can reimburse hotel costs for a limited number of participants.
The organisers of SWI 2018

CWI on the 7th of November. Join for lunch and an interesting discussion!

EWM-NL is the Dutch branch of EWM (European Women in Mathematics). This meeting is an opportunity
to learn about EWM-NL, discover its goals and activities, and join an open discussion on gender-balance
in mathematics. EWM-NL wishes to learn from the experiences of professional mathematicians in the Netherlands and see how they can make a difference.

Who: All mathematicians (and computer scientists) - irrespective of gender!
What: Presentation of EWM-NL and open discussion
Includes: Lunch but only after registration

Veldhoven

Nederlands Mathematisch Congres 2018
Date: April 3?4, 2018
The 54-th Dutch Mathematical Congress (NMC) will be held in the Koningshof in Veldhoven,
on
the two days following Easter 2018. This year's congress will be a pilot under auspices
of the Royal Dutch Mathematical Society (KWG), inspired by the `Deltaplan Wiskunde'.
It will be a larger scale two day congress, including conference dinner and an overnight
stay. This NMC new-style is possible thanks to generous financial support from
NWO, obtained via PWN.
The upcoming NMC will be a pilot under auspices of the Royal Dutch Mathematical Society (KWG).
It will be a larger scale two day congress, offering a plenary program with internationally renowned mathematicians
.
If successful, this pilot will be continued in a more structural fashion.

The program includes plenary lectures by  Adriana Garroni, Yi Ma, Jean-Fran?ois Le Gall,
William Slofstra, Bruno Stoufflet
, and Fernando Rodriguez Villegas (Beeger lecture).
There will be many minisymposia, a.o., with the laureates of the KWG-PhD prize and the winners
of the Stieltjesprijs. The annual afternoon session for high school teachers ("Docentendag"),
including lectures by the competitors for the Pythagoras ProfielWerkstuk Prijs, takes place at the second day.
