Vacatures VUA Full Professor Operations Research (m/f) at the Department of Econometrics and Operations Research The Department of Econometrics and Operations Research (www.feweb.vu.nl/ectrie) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is engaged in various Bachelor and Master programs in Econometrics and Operations Research (EOR), in Economics and Business Administration and in Business Mathematics and Informatics (BMI). The department forms an ambitious, internationally oriented research group, directed towards econometrics, mathematical economics and operations research. The department is actively engaged with the PhD program in Economics of the Tinbergen Institute and the Ph.D Program in Operations Research of the Netherlands Network for OR (LNMB). Chair of Operations Research (OR) The professor in OR leads the OR research program 'Operations Research and Information Technology', and is responsible for the OR-components in the EOR curriculum and the Department's courses in the BMI curriculum and the LNMB. He/she conducts high quality research and teaches primarily in the EOR and BMI programs, supervises master and PhD students, is active in the acquisition of grants and is member of the management team of the department. The chair is a full-time, tenured position at level full professor 1 or 2, depending on qualifications and experience. KU Leuven Faculty Position The Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering of the KU Leuven, Belgium announces a vacancy for a full time tenured or tenure-track position in the field of mathematical engineering. Candidates should have substantial internationally recognized research expertise in one or more areas of mathematical engineering and must be able to bridge the gap between fundamental numerical techniques and engineering applications. The candidate has expertise in one or more of the following areas: (1) the design and analysis of fundamental numerical techniques, (2) the development of scientific software, (3) numerical modeling, simulation and analysis of complex systems. He/she should also have teaching experience in these areas. The candidate is expected to contribute to the new master program on mathematical engineering at K.U.Leuven and/or to related programs. Applicants should have demonstrated the ability to supervise research projects and to attract external research funding. His/her activities will be integrated in the Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics section of the Department of Computer Science.
