De bekende schrijver van een wetenschappelijke biografie over Brouwer, prof.dr. Tentoonstelling `Wiskunde in de Praktijk' - `Mathematik zum Anfassen' Van 19-31 maart 2007 wordt op de Duitse Internationale School in Den Haag een interactieve wiskundetentoonstelling gehouden voor basisscholieren vanaf 8 jaar, maar ook voor oudere scholieren en volwassenen. Deze tentoonstelling, die op dinsdag 20 maart 2007 om 19:30 uur wordt geopend door de burgemeester van Den Haag, drs. W.J. Deetman, bevat meeer dan 25 interactive stukken uit het "Mathematikum", het eerste 'hands-on' wiskundemuseum ter wereld, dat zich bevindt in Giessen, 60 km. ten noorden van Frankfurt/Main. De tentoonstelling is uitermate geschikt om met een schoolklas te bezoeken maar hiervoor is reservering vooraf noodzakelijk. Dit kan via de website: www.mathematikum-disdh.nl . Voor het bezoek aan de tentoonstelling dient men ongeveer 1 uur uit te trekken. Engineering, phenomenological physics and the earth and life sciences are abundant of such phenomena on a meso- and macroscopic scale. The present symposium is intended as a national forum for the analysis of such problems across disciplines. Next to three international and a number of young national speakers and an experimental evening talk, it offers a discussion forum within a long and central poster session. The symposium stands in the very succesful tradition of the earlier Symposia on Nonlinear Systems in 2000, 2002 and 2004 in Twente (organized by A. Doelman and D. Lohse) and of the three Dynamics-of-Patterns Days in 2006 in Amsterdam (organized by U. Ebert and G. Hek).
