Vacatures VUA The Department of Mathematics invites applications for two positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek scientists active in the fields of stochastic operations research and financial mathematics. The Department of Mathematics offers bachelor and master programs in Mathematics, Business Mathematics and Informatics, and a master program in Stochastics and Financial Mathematics. In addition the department provides mathematics courses for other departments and faculties at the University. The department participates in the national master program in mathematics and the national PhD program in operations research. The Department has excellent contacts with industry and is both strong in theoretical and applied research. The Stochastics Section obtained the highest score at the last national mathematics research assessment. The Assistant Professors (or Universitair Docent, UD) do research in the fields of stochastic operations research and financial mathematics, (partially) motivated by problems of a practical nature. Both candidates will contribute to the courses offered by the department, with an emphasis on applied courses and projects for students Business Mathematics and Informatics.
